The organisation

Working together to meet the industry's challenges

EVOLIS was founded in 2021 through the merger of three long-standing organizations: Cisma (1941), Profluid (1899), and Symop (1907).
EVOLIS represents manufacturers of machinery and capital goods that actively contribute to the competitiveness and efficiency of French industry through the modernization, digitalization, and decarbonization of production across key industrial sectors.

With 600 member companies, in a sector employing 82,000 people and generating nearly €18 billion in turnover, 65% of which comes from exports, EVOLIS represents a strong and unified organisation, acting as a representative body before French and European authorities.

EVOLIS is a member of the Federation of Mechanical Engineering Industries (FIM) and, through it, of MEDEF, UIMM and France Industrie.
EVOLIS is a founding member of the Alliance Industrie du Futur (AIF) and the CSF ‘SOLUTIONS INDUSTRIE DU FUTUR’, which organises and coordinates projects aimed at transforming, modernising and digitising French industry for the benefit of all other user sectors.
EVOLIS is a member of the European sectoral committees relating to its members' activities: CECE (construction), CECIMO and CELIMO (machine tools), CEIR (valves and fittings), ECTA (cutting tools), EMVA (machine vision), EUMABOIS, EUROPUMP, EWA (welding), FEM (material handling), PNEUROP.
Internationally, EVOLIS works in partnership with the IFR, as well as associations in the US (AEM, ITA, HI, VMA), Japan (CEMA, JIVA) and South Korea (KOCEMA), amongst others.

Technical groups

The 27 or so technical groups serve as a forum where the industry’s positions on regulatory matters are shaped, and through which industry representatives are kept fully informed of legislative developments (with discussions also taking place on industry practices). Their number varies according to current events, and each group may take different forms (working group, task force, advisory group, etc.) depending on the objective. Comprising industry representatives concerned with issues relating to regulatory changes, they act as the operational arm of the technical and environmental division, defending their interests at the level of our public authorities (central government) and at European level (through our committees: CECE, EUROPUMP, FEM, CEIR, PNEUROP, CECIMO, etc.). A monitoring bulletin is published regularly to inform members of regulatory changes published in the Official Journal. This bulletin is often used by members’ quality managers during ‘quality’ audits.
